Vilaça wins his first Supertri event in Toulouse
After a fast and technical race, Vasco Vilaça's strategic use of the "Short Chute" helped him claim his first Supertri victory. In a sprint to the line, the Portuguese BMC ambassador edged out his teammate, Tim Hellwig.
The men's race at Supertri Toulouse 2024 was an exciting and dramatic contest with several key highlights.
The race followed the Enduro format, which involved three consecutive triathlons (swim-bike-run) with no breaks in between. Athletes had to push through this challenging format, with anyone falling more than 90 seconds behind being eliminated.
BMC athlete Vasco Vilaça, representing Team Stars & Stripes, secured his first Supertri victory. The competition was fierce, with athletes like Hayden Wilde, who had won the previous two Supertri races, and Tim Hellwig battling for the top spot.
The race was marked by constant shifts in leadership, with the top six athletes finishing within 39 seconds of each other. Wilde, Léo Bergere, and Kenji Nener led at different stages, but Vilaça's late surge secured his win.
